Beryl Giesela Stidston was born on 11 May 1911 in St Peters, South Australia, to parents John Harold Buttrose Stidston (1880–1947) and Giesela Marie Johanna Sophie Drenckhan (1882–1967). She was the elder sister of Felice Bette Stidston, born in 1917. Beryl lived a long life, passing away in March 2008 in New South Wales, Australia, at the age of 96. She outlived both her parents and her sister, with her father passing in 1947 and her mother in 1967.

Felice Bette Stidston was born on 13 June 1917 in Royston Park, South Australia, to parents John Harold Buttrose Stidston (1880–1947) and Giesela Marie Johanna Sophie Drenckhan (1882–1967). She was the younger sister of Beryl Giesela Stidston and part of the extended Stidston family, Felice married Edward George Newton Twiss (1906–1989), with whom she shared many years before his passing in 1989. Felice died on 26 January 1992 at Ashford Hospital in South Australia, aged 74, and was buried in Nailsworth, Prospect City, South Australia.
